Source: The sample for this review was provided by Satechi. I have my laptop dual booted with windows. My computer type is a late 2013 macbook pro with the 1tb ssd. It’s earned a coveted spot in my EDTG (Every Day Tech Gear) collection. Replacing the harddrive on a late 2013 macbook pro Today I discovered to my dismay that my hard drive is now failing on the S.m.a.r.t status. The Satechi USB-C Pro Hub Slim is so much easier and more convenient to use. Before that, I had to plug in a USB-C dongle with a USB-A port so I could then use a USB-A SD card reader. I’ve been using it quite a bit as a card reader since I started using a Sony ZV-E10 camera to record the video podcasts for The Gadgeteer YouTube channel. It’s simple to use and provides all the ports most people will want or need. I think that the Satechi USB-C Pro Hub Slim is the perfect addition to any MacBook owner’s less-dongles-more-ports lifestyle. Gives you all the ports you will probably need. The only slight “issue” is that you’ll need to hold the hub when you’re removing cables as you might accidentally pull the hub out of the laptop. I tested the Satechi USB-C Pro Hub Slim with my 13-inch MBP along with a variety of SD cards, microSD cards, USB memory sticks, a USB hard drive, a monitor, and a USB webcam.
